Senior Geologist/Project Manager

Job Specific Skills/Duties:

  1. You perform diverse engineering, technical and project functions on large projects, and often manage more than one project at a time.
  2. You serve as the primary contact for client counterparts and manage projects.
  3. The projects you manage meet client requirements in accordance with scope, budget, and schedules.
  4. You manage conflict among contractors and support staff.
  5. You perform independent and timely evaluations of information in complicated and dynamic situations.
  6. You prepare and review technical reports and proposals.
  7. You effectively mentor and coach junior staff.
  8. You produce remedial action plans that are based on the client’s land-use plans and constraints.
  9. You conduct analysis of data quality objectives in support of the agreed upon remedial decisions.
  10. You evaluate and select the most cost-effective mix of remediation, engineering controls, and resource restrictions that will support land-use plans and constraints.
  11. You generate and communicate accurate site conceptual models.
  12. You effectively analyze both transport and exposure pathways and discern their relevancy.
  13. You effectively design sampling programs that support remedial decisions.
  14. You effectively draft and negotiate land-use restrictions with landowners, clients, and regulators.
  15. You ensure compliance with the regulatory requirements.
  16. You design, specify, and generate bid documents for the engineering of controls and remedial measures.
  17. You effectively manage vendors, craftsmen, support staff, and/or contractors so that they successfully complete the construction of engineering controls and remediation measures.
  18. You effectively specify and supervise environmental data collection efforts (groundwater, soil, surface water, sediments, air).
  19. You demonstrate the ability and judgment to specify and generate maps, tables, and figures that capture relevant hydrogeologic information.
  20. You express, communicate, and present conclusions and results in clear written and oral reports.
  21. You effectively use Windows-based personal computers and word processing and spreadsheet software

Education And/Or Experience:

  1. BS degree in geological engineering, geology, or hydrogeology and more than 10 years of professional experience in environmental consulting/engineering or related field
  2. Experience must demonstrate ability to apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments
  3. P.E. or P.G. Certification is preferred

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to extreme cold to extreme heat and can expect to encounter toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employee must be able to make frequent trips to local sites and travel via air and land on temporary assignments. Land travel may require the use of company or personal vehicles. Therefore, a valid driver's license in good standing is required.
