Senior Environmental Regulatory Specialist

Job Specific Skills/Duties:

  1. You manage in such a way that ensures compliance with regulatory and permitting requirements under RCRA, CERCLA, UST, and CWS in U.S. EPA Region V and associated state programs
  2. You draft and negotiate land use restrictions.
  3. You effectively perform diverse regulatory evaluations to support engineering, technical and project functions on large projects, and you often manage more than one project at a time.
  4. You serve as the primary contact for client counterparts and manage projects to meet client requirements in accordance with the established scope, budget, and schedules.
  5. You perform independent timely evaluations of information in complicated and dynamic situations.
  6. You prepare and review technical reports and proposals.
  7. You lead compliance efforts during preparation of remedial and corrective action plans based on the client’s land use plans and constraints.
  8. You express, communicate, and present conclusions and results in clear written and oral reports.
  9. You effectively use Windows-based personal computers and word processing and spreadsheet software.

Education And/Or Experience:

  1. BS degree in engineering, geology, geochemistry, or related field and more than 10 years of professional experience in environmental consulting, regulatory agencies, or related field
  2. MS degree preferred
  3. Experience must demonstrate ability to apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures of particular field of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to extreme cold to extreme heat and can expect to encounter toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Employee must be able to make frequent trips to local sites and travel via air and land on temporary assignments. Land travel may require the use of company or personal vehicles. Therefore, a valid driver's license in good standing is required.
